Neurodiversity & Mitigation

"The Justice system cruelly stacks the odds against the neurodivergent "

Far too many people with mental health challenges or mental health disabilities, including autism, ADHD and other neurodiversity challenges reside in prison, where they do not receive tailored support and help, and so start a cycle that can continue for many years, benefitting no one. It is worth noting that despite years of promises, only one prison throughout the whole of the UK, HMP Feltham for young male offenders, has been accredited by the National Autistic Society. The lack of help is a national scandal.

Good mitigation can help break this cycle but it is not easy.  Because the information is frequently technical, and also based on research, it is crucial the details are presented to the judge in an easy to read but complete format. In addition, getting this information requires investigation and dealing with professionals from the justice system, medical profession and academia, which many neurodiverse people are not equipped to do.

We have experience of dealing with neurodiverse mitigation – see our case study here – so please buy our £40.00 review pack and we will be happy to help.
